Specifically, what are payment links?

Payment links are links you create with MyMarketingCart.com, which you can send to your clients when they owe you money. These payment links are essentially products you created within the shopping cart system with specific dollar values associated to them, depending on what your clients owe you.

Payment links, as I call them, allow your clients to pay you conveniently upon clicking on the payment link you send them via eMail. Here's an example of what a payment link looks like. Go ahead, click on it and see where it takes you. Then, come back to this page for further explanation.

Now, don't worry about the length of that payment link you see above. That's the default link generated by the shopping cart system. After I create my payment links, I simply head over to TinyURL.com to create a "tiny URL" from out of that long link, which then looks something like this:

It is the "tiny URL" link, which I'll email my client to pay me, and typically within 24-48 hours, I have money waiting for me in my eMail inbox. That's basically what a payment link is and how I send them out. But, there's much more to learn about payments links. Keep reading!

What kind of payment links do you need to create?

In my experience, I've learned to create three types of payment links to help clients pay me for the services I perform for them:

SINGLE PAYMENT LINKS — If a client owes you a single dollar amount, such as $100, $250 or $500, and they want to pay you by credit card, simply create and send them a payment link with the amount you want them to pay. When they receive your eMail, they'll click on the payment link enclosed in your eMail and pay that amount of money at their earliest convenience. Typically, they only need a day or two to get around to paying you. That's okay. One morning quite soon, you'll wake up to money in your eMail inbox. Nice!
MULTIPLE-OPTION PAYMENT LINKS — Some clients will tell you, "I can afford $200 this week and $500 next week. Can I make partial payments?" I say, "Keep the cashflow coming in (to you)!" Multiple-option payment links provided "multiple payment options" when it comes to making payments to you. One single payment link might offer several different payment options in different dollar amounts. For example, you might offer the options for clients to pay $100, $200, $300, $400 or $500 within a single payment. Let them choose. Can you offer other dollar amount options? Absolutely.
RECURRING PAYMENT LINKS — Some clients prefer to make monthly payments when it comes to paying off large dollar amounts owed to you. If you're a personal coach, you know how much clients like to pay monthly for their coaching. So, why not create and send out a "recurring payment link" in the amount you want them to pay monthly. $150? $250? $500? Whatever the amount, set it up so your client only has to make one initial payment with their credit card, then every subsequent payment takes place automatically until they request to cancel the payments. It's that easy!

In all three scenarios, MyMarketingCart.com has the ability to create all the payment links you want, which you can then send to your clients to pay you the money they owe you!

Why do you need to know how to create payment links?

While there are several ways to get paid from your clients, sending out payment links to your clients has proven to me to be a valueable technique in (my favorite subject) "getting paid!" There are several reasons why you need to learn how to create payment links for your clients so you can get paid …

CONVENIENT PAYMENT METHOD — When clients owe you money, you want to be paid quickly. You don't to hassel the client and you certainly don't want to bug them if another follow-up payment is required. Payment links are a convenient way to eMail your clients a link for them to click on so you get paid in the dollar amount they owe you.
NO WAITING FOR A CHECK — You've heard the old saying, "the check is in the mail"? Well, what you're not aware of is that check in the mail to you might "bounce", and then what? You have to call the client, explain everything. They have to send you a new check? Forget it! Checks are only good if you call the bank its drawn on to check to see if it will cash. But, even that's a waste of time.
NO CHASING THEM DOWN — Who wants to chase a client down to pay you? Are they at their office, picking up the kids, eating dinner, sleeping? These facts don't matter. Send them your payment link in the eMail and let them jump on it at their next convenience.
NO NEED FOR PEN & PAPER — Are you sure you wrote down their credit card number, billing address, name on the credit card and expiration date correctly? Oh, did you forget to ask them for the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card? Don't waste your time. Send them a payment link in the eMail and let them jump on it at their next convenience.
THEY CAN PAY WITH CREDIT CARD —Imagine this, the credit card they gave you doesn't work. Why? Who cares. Honestly, if you send your clients a payment link and the first credit card doesn't go through, guess what? They whip out another until it does work. Who's time are they wasting? Not yours, but their time. A good thing, according to your watch!

Having said all that, let's get right into how to create a payment link using MyMarketingCart.com.

How do you create a payment link inside MyMarketingCart.com?

Creating payment links is no different than creating and adding a product to the cart to sell from your web site, except you don't put the "Buy-Me Link" generated by the system on your web site. Instead, you simply copy/paste it into an eMail and you're done! Watch this video tutorial to learn how easy it is to create an unlmited number of payment links using MyMarketingCart.com.
